Security Engineer

ENCODE is seeking Security Engineers at different seniority levels who will join the team of an Encode client and manage (implementation, integration, configuration and administration) of cyber security components to support operational security services. The role is expected to take direct action on all or part of a cyber defense infrastructure and to act as the main interface between business and technical units. The Security Engineers will support a multinational organization with multiple European locations and a significant and challenging security infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in an Information Security Engineering role and solid background in Operating Systems, Scripting languages, Databases (SQL, MySQL) etc., Network Security and end point security solutions.

Location: The role will be located in Luxembourg or Belgium.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design, implementation & support of security systems (service provider & enterprise)
  • Participation in multi-disciplinary / multi-technology teams for the design and implementation of security solutions & services. Supporting and educating the Product Owner, especially with respect to refining, managing and prioritizing the product backlog items
  • Troubleshooting of complex problems on client critical infrastructure & production networks

Position Requirements


  • University Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology field
  • Good knowledge and experience in methodologies such as Operating Systems, Scripting languages, Databases (SQL, MySQL) etc.
  • Knowledge and experience of IPS, WAF, DAM and Firewall solutions
  • Knowledge and experience of end point solutions (DLP, Anti-Malware, etc.)
  • Knowledge and experience of advanced security solutions (Deep Packet Inspection, etc., Privilege Access Management, SIEM)
  • Expertise on Windows Security best practices
  • Knowledge of security issues, techniques and implications across computing platforms
  • At least 2 years of experience in Information Security or relevant roles
  • Ability to take ownership of tasks and work as a team member
  • Relevant master degree will be considered as an advantage
  • Software engineering background will be considered as plus
  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills
  • EU citizenship

Desired Qualifications:

At least 1 certification among:

  • GSEC (GIAC Certified Security Essentials)
  • GCWN (GIAC Certified Windows Security Administrator)
  • GCED (GIAC Certified Enterprise Defender)
  • GCUX (GIAC Certified UNIX Security Administrator)
  • ENSA (EC-Council Certified Network Administrator)
  • Microsoft Certified System Center Configuration Manager
  • MCSA (Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate)
  • or an equivalent certification recognized internationally

At least 1 certification among:

  • GCIH (GIAC Certified Incident Handler)
  • EC-Council Certified Disaster Recovery Professional
  • MCSE (Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert)
  • or an equivalent certification recognized internationally
